Extern's Southern Women's Homeless Support Service provides intensive, one-to-one support to women aged 18+ who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and experiencing co-occurring mental health or substance/alcohol use issues. A dedicated female keyworker delivers person-centred support to help reduce barriers to access and enable women to sustain safe, settled accommodation.
What This Service Aims to Do
- Provide intensive, holistic support to women at risk of homelessness or experiencing homelessness alongside co-occurring mental ill health and substance or alcohol use, helping them access and sustain accommodation.
- Deliver person-centred support through a dedicated female keyworker to help women sustain tenancies.
- Support women across the entirety of their homelessness journey - from crisis through to the transition into settled accommodation.
Who Can Access This Service
This service supports:
- Women aged 18 and over
- Residing in the Armagh, Banbridge, Craigavon, Newry, Mourne & Down, or Mid Ulster housing areas
- Who are homeless or at risk of homelessness
- Experiencing problematic alcohol or substance use, and/or poor mental health
Referral pathway:This is an open-access service. Referrals are welcome from individuals, as well as community, voluntary, and statutory organisations.
