Youth Support
The Youth Support Programme works on a community-based group model and provides support to referred young people aged 10-17 years. The programme promotes the development of pro-social activites for young people utilising community based facilities and support. Young people are encouraged to work together and develop peer support in groups of up to twelve. They also have the opportunity for one-to-one support whilst on the programme. Extern currently provides the Youth Support Programme in two areas in Dublin which are funded by the Health Service Executive.
Youth Support is available in Northern Ireland in the Western Health and Social Care Trust with projects in Derry-Londonderry, Strabane, Omagh and Enniskillen, and in the South-Eastern Health and Social Care Trust are operating from premises in Belfast.
