Supporting Children & Families
Faces

FACES was established in 2009 and operates in east and south Belfast. The project works with children and young people aged 8-18 who due to anti-social behaviour within the community, personal risk-taking and offending behaviours, are at risk of being placed into care or coming to the attention of the justice agencies.

The project is funded by the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust and project workers provide intensive support to children and young referred from a range of sources. This could include education, PSNI, community and family referrers. Young people will be engaged on a programme which provides them with the opportunity to work on a plan to help address issues that cause their behaviours and identify alternative approaches to enable them to cope in the community and make better choices. Additional supports, such as parenting skills are provided to the parents and/or carers of referred young people and this can include group work and engaging in pro-social positive family orientated activities.
