Janus
Extern provides a range of programmes across the island of Ireland working with children and young people aged between 8 and 18. Our programmes range from early intervention and prevention, diversion through to working with children within the care system.
The Janus Programme provides intensive one-to-one support for referred young people aged 10-17 years who are living in the community or within the care system. Young people have been assessed as having very challenging behaviour which may pose a risk to themselves and to others. The support provided can be individually tailored to meet the requirements of the local commissioning office and is needs-led to support the young person. Young people are encouraged to contribute to the development of their support in achieving agreed objectives. The Janus Programme is funded by the Health Service Executive (Ireland) and available in the Dublin Mid-Leinster and West HSE regions. Projects are currently operational in Limerick City and County, Clare, Tipperary, Dublin, Kildare, Wicklow, Bray, Portlaoise and Mullingar.
