Who We Are

Our Purpose

As a community and voluntary organisation, our innovative services are trauma aware and we are committed to meeting the ever changing needs of our service users without judgement.


We are commissioned by public sector bodies and government departments from across the island of Ireland and deliver services to support, house and engage adults, young people, families and children who are -

  • Facing family breakdown
  • Dealing with substance misuse
  • Impacted by suicide and poor mental health
  • Living with past offences or in the criminal justice system
  • Experiencing homelessness
  • Children looked after
  • Young people in alternative education
  • Engaged in alternative education and employability supports
  • Members of the Traveller Community
  • Living with neurodiversity

OUR VISION

A society where everyone who faces crisis, discrimination, difficult personal challenges or societal inequalities, receives understanding and support towards a better tomorrow. Extern will play its part and will work to achieve this as a Trauma Informed Organisation.
