Role:Project Worker X 1 & Relief Workers (Social Care Services)

Permanent Post Hours: 37.5 hrs. per week inclusive of breaks (flexibility required). Sleeping overnight is required, 1-2 weekends per month. Relief hours: As and when required. Hours of work will be determined by mutual agreement.

About the role

Extern’s Disability Respite Service (EDRS) Time Out Programme supports children and adults with disabilities whose home placements may be at risk of breakdown, or who require additional support to build independence and life skills.

As a Project Worker or Relief Worker, you will:

  • Deliver person-centred respite care and skill-building programmes

  • Support service users in areas like communication, behaviour management, and independent living

  • Facilitate access to community activities including education, training, leisure, and social inclusion

  • Work closely with families, statutory agencies, and community partners

This is a flexible, hands-on role ideal for someone passionate about supporting people with disabilities to live full and meaningful lives. You’ll be part of a dynamic, creative team making a real difference.

At MUST Hostel, we provide tailored support in a 20-bed facility for both males and females, focusing on a holistic approach to meet the unique needs of each service user. We are also a Probation Approved Hostel, collaborating with PBNI to supervise individuals under licence or other restrictions.

Are you passionate about digital learning and employee wellbeing? We're looking for a Digital Learning and Engagement Advisorto join our People & Organisational Development team.

In this role, you'll be responsible for the entire lifecycle of our non-social work training programs, from strategic planning and design to development and delivery. A key part of your work will be creating engaging digital content. You'll also oversee all essential non-social work training and present updates to our Strategic Leadership Team.

Additionally, you'll chair our Wellbeing and Engagement Forum. You'll lead the committee in developing and implementing initiatives that promote health and wellbeing for everyone at Extern.
