    Pathways is a Belfast-based alternative Education Otherwise Than At School (EOTAS) programme for young people, aged 14-16, at risk of being excluded from mainstream education and who may also be at risk of offending, or entering into care or custody.

    What This Programme Aims to Do

    Pathways is a Belfast-based alternative Education Otherwise Than At School (EOTAS) programme for young people aged 14–16 who are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education, and who may also be at risk of offending, entering care, or entering custody.

    What Support Is Offered

    • Core subject teaching in English, Maths, and ICTup to GCSE level
    • Prince's Trusteducation and training
    • A Personal Development curriculumsupporting emotional, social, and physical wellbeing
    • A dedicated well-being programmebuilding personal and social skills

    Since opening its doors in 1998, Pathways has supported over 750 young people with obtaining over 4,000 qualifications, as well as preparing them for the next steps in their lives, such as further training, education or employment.

    Who Can Access This Service

    Pathways supports young people aged 14–16 who are:

    • At risk of exclusion from mainstream education
    • At risk of offending, entering care, or entering custody

    Referrals to this service are made via the Education Authority Options Panel.
